From the bustling streets of Shibuya to the heart of Orchard Road, Udon Shin makes its long-awaited overseas debut in Singapore. Known for its silky handmade udon and meticulous craftsmanship, the Tokyo-based eatery opens at Takashimaya Shopping Centre, offering diners a taste of tradition, innovation, and comfort in every bowl.
Founded in 2011 by Chef Narahara Shinji, Udon Shin is known for its handmade udon and “Four Fresh” philosophy: freshly kneaded, cut, boiled, and fried. Each bowl is made in-house daily, achieving a balance of koshi (firmness) and nobi (stretchiness) that reflects the craft and care behind every dish.

A Tokyo Favourite Comes to Town
The Singapore menu features a curated selection of hot, cold, and soup udon dishes, alongside freshly fried tempura. At the heart of it all is the signature Carbonara Udon — a rich, comforting bowl of thick kamaage udon in umami-rich dashi, topped with raw egg, parmesan, butter, pepper, spring onion, and crispy bacon tempura.

Udon Shin’s hot dishes balance richness and comfort. Highlights include the Butter Shoyu Udon with Sweet Potato Tempura, known for its silky texture and natural sweetness, and the Spicy Beef Shoyu Udon, which combines tender beef with housemade mala paste.
For a refreshing option, the cold dishes offer clean flavours and light textures. Yuzu Wagyu Udon pairs premium Wagyu sirloin with citrus peel, while Tempura Zaru Udon presents chilled noodles with dipping sauce and an assortment of tempura.

Tempura is made fresh-to-order, with ingredients like bacon, shrimp, chicken thigh, cheese, and chashu wrapped in light, golden batter. Diners can customise their bowls with add-ons such as Wagyu sirloin, mentaiko, and grated daikon.
To complete the experience, the drinks menu offers a thoughtful mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Sparkling sake, premium sakes, and plum liqueur sit alongside housemade honey lemonade, fruit teas, and sparkling sodas.
Udon Shin Singapore features an open kitchen concept, allowing guests to watch the udon-making process up close. It is a quiet nod to the brand’s dedication to transparency and tradition, where every strand of noodle tells a story of time, care and technique.
