A Batik Story by Barehands

Fashion
BAREHANDS, #B2-10A/11

Part I: Kinship, exploring family and togetherness through batik

This New Year, Barehands introduces A Batik Story, a two-part collection that reflects on heritage, family, and the connections that shape everyday life. The first chapter, Part I: Kinship, launches exclusively at The Barehands Gallery at Takashimaya Shopping Centre from Fri 9 Jan 2026.

Kinship explores the idea of family beyond tradition alone, focusing on closeness, shared routines, and the quiet bonds formed over time. These themes are expressed through Barehands’ contemporary batik designs, with relaxed silhouettes, warm colour stories, and hand-drawn motifs that echo familiarity and comfort.

Designed for women, men, and children, the collection allows families to dress in conversation with one another, shaped by shared moments and personal expression. Each piece stands on its own, while together they reflect a sense of togetherness that feels personal and unforced.

As the opening chapter of A Batik Story, Kinship sets the foundation for a wider narrative that looks at batik as part of modern family life. Available in-store only, the collection invites visitors to experience the craftsmanship, texture, and detail up close.

A Batik Story, Part I: Kinship is collection is now available at #B2-10A/11.
